A significant medical donation was made to the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) by Kanzlsperger, a physiotherapy company based in Germany, in partnership with Ghanaian professional, Professor Jonathan Quartey. The donation ceremony was held at WAFA’s training facility in Sogakope on Friday morning. During the event, WAFA’s head coach, Saddick Abubakar, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, acknowledging the positive impact these medical items would have on the team’s performance. Abubakar noted that such equipment, which is often costly, would greatly assist both the technical staff and players in their ongoing development.

Jan Gosgens, the Managing Director of WAFA, also took a moment to commend Professor Quartey for his continued generosity. He recalled their long-standing relationship, particularly from the time when Professor Quartey served as the club's physiotherapist during their Feyenoord days. Gosgens emphasized the strength of the bond between Quartey and WAFA, one that has lasted for years even after the club’s relocation from Gomoa Fetteh to Sogakope. Gosgens expressed deep gratitude for Quartey’s sustained support, recognizing the critical role these donations play in helping the team reach new heights. His remarks reflected a sense of optimism for future achievements, with the club hoping to achieve even more success through this ongoing partnership.

Professor Quartey himself shared the reasons behind his latest donation, emphasizing his long-term commitment to WAFA. Having worked with the club for over a decade before its move to Sogakope, Quartey remains deeply connected to the team. His passion for rehabilitation and player welfare motivated him to provide essential medical resources to support WAFA's operations. This gesture is not the first of its kind, as earlier in the year, Quartey also made a donation to Accra Shooting Stars. His contributions are a testament to his dedication to the welfare of football players and his enduring relationship with WAFA, which he views as a critical part of his professional journey. Currently, WAFA competes in the National Division Two League, Zone 2, and continues to benefit from Quartey’s unwavering support, which is crucial for the club's ongoing success and well-being.
