Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was indeed confident about his party's chances in the upcoming election. He claimed that the NPP has "one million ways" to win the election. While he didn't elaborate on what those strategies are, it's clear... that learning from Ghana electoral history; especially in relation to the NPP's character, the party is once again developing strategies to rig the the upcoming elections.

As Ghana journey closer the December 2024 historic election, Ghanaian voters must note, that when a corrupt government; and failed political leaders claim they have many ways to win an election, it's often a veiled threat or a boastful declaration of their ability to manipulate the electoral process. This can include rigging the vote, bribing officials, or using other illicit means to ensure their victory.

In some cases, corrupt leaders may use their power and influence to intimidate or coerce voters, opponents, or electoral officials. They might also exploit weaknesses in the electoral system, such as inadequate voter education, lack of transparency, or insufficient security measures.

Ultimately, a failed  leader like Chairman Wuntumi's claim of having "one million ways" to win an election is a disturbing indication of their willingness to undermine democratic processes and exploit vulnerabilities in the voting system.

It's also worth noting that, Chairman Wontumi has been a prominent figure in the NPP, and his media outlets, Wontumi Radio and Wontumi TV, have been instrumental in promoting the misinformation and falsehoods.

A recent example of this misinformation strategy by Wontumi and his NPP party is seen in the case of Ohenaba Nana Asiedu from Wontumi TV in the Ashanti region.

Ohenaba Nana Asiedu, a radio and TV host at (NPP affiliated) Wontumi FM, was on November 23, 2024 arrested by the Ghana Police  for allegedly spreading false information.

He was seen in a trending social media video claiming, that registered voters in Ghana would have to cast their votes for different presidential candidates on separate days during the upcoming December elections.

He was arrested by the Ghana Police for violating section 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) for spreading falsehood which is likely to disturb the public peace. He is currently in police custody and will face court proceedings.

To prevent Chairman Wontumi and his NPP from potentially employing their "one million ways" to rig the December 7 elections; which could involve unfair tactics; the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and all other opposition political parties must exercise extreme vigilance in all aspects of the  electoral process.

This includes carefully monitoring the voting process, verifying the accuracy of vote counts, and ensuring that all electoral materials are secure and tamper-proof. It's also essential for opposition parties to educate their supporters on the importance of reporting any suspicious activities or irregularities to the appropriate authorities.

By being proactive and vigilant, opposition parties can help ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, and prevent any potential attempts to manipulate the outcome.
