The deteriorating condition has also become a source of concern for private car owners. Ama Osei, a resident of the area, shared her experience: “I avoid the roundabout whenever I can. If you’re not careful, you can easily damage your car or even cause an accident.”
The issue has drawn attention on social media, with users posting images and videos of the damaged roundabout. The hashtag #FixPrempehRoundabout has been trending, with many calling on the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and the Ghana Highways Authority to take immediate action.
Residents recall that despite numerous assurances from local authorities to improve road infrastructure in the city, little has been done to address this particular roundabout. The increasing traffic congestion caused by the poor road surface also affects businesses and disrupts daily commutes, further amplifying frustrations.
