The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting President-elect John Dramani Mahama as he prepares to lead the nation. In a significant gesture of unity and encouragement, the GPCC leadership, led by its president, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, met with Mahama to assure him of their prayers, guidance, and collaboration throughout his tenure.
Apostle Nyamekye commended Mahama’s wealth of leadership experience and expressed optimism that he would steer the country toward progress and stability. He highlighted the council’s belief in Mahama’s ability to take bold and transformative steps for the benefit of the Ghanaian people.
Speaking during the meeting, Apostle Nyamekye said, “We are here to assure you that the GPCC will continue to pray for you and will also make ourselves available to support your presidency. At the end of the day, we want Ghana to win, and we know that once He has selected you for us, He will use you mightily.”
He also reiterated the council’s readiness to engage actively with the new administration, stating, “We will make ourselves available, we will come to you from time to time, and anytime we are invited, we promise to be here to share our minds and to discuss the development of this nation together.”
This declaration of support from one of the country’s largest faith-based organizations underscores the GPCC’s commitment to fostering national unity and progress, regardless of political dynamics.
As Mahama prepares to assume the presidency, expectations are high. The GPCC urged him to lead with integrity, wisdom, and a focus on decisions that would benefit all Ghanaians. The council acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in Mahama’s ability to navigate them effectively.
Apostle Nyamekye’s words reflect a broader hope among Ghanaians for a leader who prioritizes the collective welfare of the nation over partisan interests. The GPCC’s pledge to provide consistent support and advice further highlights the critical role religious institutions play in promoting good governance and national cohesion.
In response to the council’s assurance of support, Mahama expressed profound gratitude for their prayers and encouragement. He acknowledged the weight of the responsibility
