Comedian Bovi slams beating children reveals son broke TV thrice for ‘fun of it.

Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor, Bovi Ugboma, recently shared insights into his parenting journey, revealing how his son, Chuchu, overcame a destructive habit of breaking televisions out of anger. The comedian made this revelation during an engaging interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by Nedu, Husband Material, and others.

Bovi’s story highlights the complexities of modern parenting and the challenges of managing a child’s emotions. During the conversation, he explained his belief in gentle parenting, emphasizing that he does not advocate for physical discipline as a means of correcting children. I’m not a fan of beating kids, Bovi stated. But every child is different, and as parents, we need to find the approach that works best for each one.

Reflecting on his son’s earlier behavior, Bovi recounted how Chuchu would react to anger by breaking televisions, leaving the family frustrated and searching for solutions. We had to replace several TVs because of him, he said, recalling the difficulty of addressing the issue without resorting to physical punishment. Instead, Bovi and his wife chose to focus on teaching Chuchu about emotional regulation and the consequences of his actions.

Over time, their consistent efforts began to bear fruit. Chuchu started to understand the impact of his behavior and showed genuine remorse. It wasn’t an overnight change, Bovi noted. It took patience, conversations, and helping him see why what he was doing was wrong. Today, Chuchu has learned to manage his emotions more effectively, and the destructive incidents are a thing of the past.

Bovi’s experience underscores the importance of understanding a child’s individual needs and finding constructive ways to address behavioral challenges. He acknowledged that parenting can be unpredictable, with each child requiring a unique approach. What worked for Chuchu might not work for another child, he said. As parents, we’re always learning and adapting.

The comedian’s openness about his parenting journey resonated with listeners, many of whom commended him for his honesty and commitment to raising his children with care and understanding. His story also sparked discussions about the effectiveness of gentle parenting and the importance of fostering emotional intelligence in children.

In sharing his family’s experience, Bovi highlighted a broader lesson: that parenting is not about perfection but about persistence, love, and the willingness to grow alongside one’s children. For Chuchu, the journey from frustration to self-control is a testament to the power of patience and the positive impact of mindful parenting.
