Former President Bill Clinton has been admitted to a hospital after experiencing a fever, as reported by his spokesperson. Angel Ureña, Clinton’s representative, shared the news on social media, expressing that the 78-year-old is in good spirits and receiving excellent medical care at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The former president was admitted on Monday evening for further tests and observation. Although the statement didn’t provide detailed information regarding his current condition, Ureña reassured the public that Clinton is doing well and remains alert. Sources close to the former president also stated that the situation is not considered urgent, and Clinton is expected to make a full recovery soon.

This health scare comes as the latest in a series of medical issues for Clinton, who served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. The former president has faced health challenges over the years, including a major heart surgery in 2004. At the age of 58, Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery after doctors discovered extensive heart disease. A decade later, he had another procedure to treat a blocked artery after experiencing chest pains. In 2021, Clinton was hospitalized for six days in California due to a blood infection. Despite these health setbacks, Clinton has remained active in public life, continuing to travel the country to support political causes. Just this year, he actively campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the presidency.

Following his heart surgeries, Clinton made a significant lifestyle change, adopting a vegan diet. Known for his love of rich, fatty foods earlier in his life, the former president has credited his plant-based diet with greatly improving his health. He even stated in a 2016 interview with Politico that had he not made the switch, he may not be alive today. Clinton’s commitment to health and wellness, combined with his past health challenges, demonstrates his resolve to maintain an active role in public affairs despite his age. Last month, he released his latest book, Citizen: My Life After the White House, which reflects on his post-presidential years. The news of his hospitalization has prompted an outpouring of support and well wishes from his admirers, further highlighting the continued interest in the former president’s health and well-being.
