The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that they have commenced the process of hiring a new head coach for the Black Queens following the departure of Nora Hauptle. According to the GFA's Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, the association is actively working to fill the vacancy left by the Swiss tactician. Hauptle, who had been in charge of the team for two years, opted not to renew her contract with the GFA and has since taken up the position of head coach for Zambia's Copper Queens. Her decision to leave comes at a time when the Black Queens are preparing for major tournaments, including the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), making the appointment of a new coach even more crucial.

In his interview with Asempa FM's Ultimate Sports Show, Asante Twum emphasized the GFA’s commitment to finding a competent and experienced coach who can build upon the progress Hauptle made during her tenure. The GFA is keen on ensuring that the new coach will continue to develop the team, especially with the upcoming WAFCON on the horizon. Asante Twum noted that the association was fast-tracking the hiring process so that the new head coach would have sufficient time to assess the team and prepare them for the competition. The Black Queens have a strong legacy in African women's football, and the GFA is determined to keep that momentum going by appointing a coach who is both capable and familiar with the unique demands of international competitions.

The departure of Nora Hauptle has created a void at a critical time for the Black Queens, but the GFA is focused on ensuring the team remains competitive. Asante Twum reassured that the GFA is in discussions with various stakeholders to ensure that the appointment is made swiftly and that the team will be ready for the challenges ahead. The new coach will not only need to focus on immediate preparations for the WAFCON but also on building a sustainable and successful program for the future. With a clear focus on continuity, the GFA is optimistic that they will appoint a suitable successor to Hauptle, one who will be able to lead the Black Queens to greater success on the continental stage.
