Renowned US-based Ghanaian gospel musician and preacher, Sonnie Badu, has made a striking prophecy regarding President John Dramani Mahama. According to Badu, Mahama is destined to transition into pastoral ministry, marking a significant new chapter in his life.
Sonnie Badu, who serves as the founder of Rockhill Church in the USA, shared his revelation via Instagram, stating that Mahama has completed his “comeback mission” and is now poised for a spiritual journey. In his post, he wrote:
“Now that His Excellency has fulfilled the comeback mission, there is one more hurdle to overcome; call it a prophecy. His Excellency will soon be ordained as a pastor. He might become the first pastor to serve as a president. Congratulations in advance (sic).”
This prophecy comes just days after John Dramani Mahama was officially sworn in as Ghana’s president at a grand inauguration ceremony held at the Black Star Square in Accra on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
The ceremony was attended by thousands of Ghanaians, along with dignitaries and global leaders, who gathered to witness the historic event. Mahama’s inauguration was particularly significant, symbolizing a remarkable political comeback.
Having served as Ghana’s president from 2012 to 2017, Mahama lost both the 2016 and 2020 elections before securing a resounding victory in the 2024 general elections. His return to power underscores Ghana’s tradition of alternating political power between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with no party winning more than two consecutive terms since the advent of multi-party democracy in 1992.
Sonnie Badu’s prophecy has sparked widespread discussions about Mahama’s future, with many intrigued by the idea of a sitting or former president transitioning into pastoral ministry. Badu’s assertion that Mahama may become “the first pastor to serve as a president” adds a spiritual dimension to the leader’s already illustrious career.
While President Mahama has not publicly responded to the prophecy, the notion of combining political leadership with spiritual guidance could inspire a unique legacy. For now, Mahama’s focus remains on steering Ghana towards growth and development, but Sonnie Badu’s vision offers a glimpse of what might lie ahead for the president on a personal and spiritual level.
Whether or not this prophecy comes to pass, it highlights the intersection of faith, leadership, and destiny, leaving many to watch closely as Mahama’s journey unfolds.
