2028 Election Is Already Decided, Your Party Doesn't Stand A Change-Kofi Oduro Tells NDC

Prophet Kofi Oduro, the leader and founder of Alabaster International Ministry, has delivered a strong message to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding their recent actions in Parliament.

Addressing his congregation on Sunday, Prophet Oduro declared that Ghanaians have already made up their minds about the 2028 elections. He stressed that the current events unfolding in Parliament and within the Appointments Committee are damaging the NDC’s chances in the upcoming election. According to him, if the party continues on this path, their prospects for victory will be significantly weakened.

To support his point, he referenced the vetting process of the Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, highlighting that she was not asked a single question.

He pointed out that the Greater Accra region is grappling with numerous challenges, including sanitation issues and ineffective drainage systems. Despite these pressing concerns, no member of the Appointments Committee raised any questions about them during the vetting session.

Prophet Oduro further noted that the public is growing increasingly frustrated with such developments, and this dissatisfaction will likely translate into electoral consequences for the NDC in 2028.

This controversy follows Linda Ocloo’s record-setting vetting session, which has been described as the shortest in Ghana’s 9th Parliament.

Ocloo, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and was nominated as the Greater Accra Regional Minister, appeared before the Appointments Committee. However, her vetting took an unexpected turn when Minority Leader and Ranking Member of the committee, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, interrupted her introduction, offering compliments instead of posing any questions.

Instead of scrutinizing her qualifications or policies, Afenyo-Markin welcomed her presence, commended her service as an MP, and congratulated her and her team for their work.

To the astonishment of many, the committee chairman and First Deputy Speaker, Bernard Ahiafor, proceeded to acknowledge Ocloo’s entourage and swiftly declared the vetting session over. This abrupt conclusion meant Ocloo did not even get the chance to complete her introduction.

The unusually brief vetting has sparked widespread reactions, with many Ghanaians expressing shock as they watched the proceedings unfold on live television. The session’s rapid conclusion has fueled public debate, with critics questioning the rationale behind such a hasty process.
