It Is Not Enough To Sit Back And Wait-Oheneba Asiedu Calls For Immediate Action From NPP Leaders

According to Ghanaweb report, Oheneba Asiedu, an aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has urged party members to break their silence following the NPP's defeat in the 2024 general elections.

In a recent statement, Asiedu emphasized the urgency of rebuilding the party, calling for swift action rather than waiting for the next election cycle to initiate change. He stressed that the NPP cannot afford to remain stagnant after the loss, but must instead start strategizing for its future success.

"As a party, we must begin the rebuilding process now, not in the lead-up to the next elections. We have to evaluate, regroup, and strengthen our base. It is not enough to sit back and wait," Oheneba Asiedu stated.

Asiedu, who also serves as the host of Wontumi Morning Show, specifically called on former Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), former ministers, and other key leaders within the party to come forward and contribute to the recovery efforts. He highlighted that the collective efforts of these influential figures are crucial for the revitalization of the NPP.

The call for action was directed at individuals like Dennis Miracles Aboagye, who served as the communications director during the campaign. Asiedu criticized Aboagye's absence from the public discourse following the defeat, pointing out that such silence only adds to the party's current challenges.

"The absence of leaders, especially key figures like Dennis Miracles Aboagye, from the ongoing discussions after the party's loss is concerning," Asiedu remarked. "Now more than ever, we need strong voices and active participation to help chart a path forward."

The NPP’s loss in the 2024 elections has raised questions within the party about its future direction. Many have called for a comprehensive assessment of what went wrong and what strategies need to be implemented for the party to regain its footing.
