Despite his political responsibilities with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, whose real name is Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has made it clear that he wants to be the leader of Asante Kotoko.

He stated in a recent interview that he is confident he will one day be the club's chairman and that he will use both financial resources and strategic boldness to bring the team back to its former glory.

Chairman Wontumi has not yet succeeded in his ambition to acquire Premier League team Chelsea in 2022, but he is still committed to Kotoko's future.

"I occasionally do not serve as I should because of the NPP, but I still make contributions in other ways. However, I am aware that I will eventually serve as Kotoko's chairman. He stated on Wontumi Radio, "And when I become chairman, I will use money and aggression to make the team as great as it was under Herbert."

"I will apply all of that with a little pride because we all witnessed what Herbert achieved. Everyone will see the level I will raise Kotoko to. "I will declare that it is not my turn yet, just as Jesus told Mary, 'It is not my time yet.'" he continued.

Our goal is to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and create history. Kofi Adams, Minister of Sports

Kofi Adams, Minister of Sports and Recreation, has promised that the Black Stars must advance to the 2026 World Cup and create history.

The four-time African champions have nine points after four games, good for second place in Group I. Next month, the Black Stars' Matchday 5 and 6 matches against Chad and Madagascar will begin their qualifying campaign.

Mr. Adams states that the Black Stars must strive to qualify and create history at the world championship, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico after they were not selected for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He told Woezor TV, "We just do not want to qualify for the World Cup, but we want to compete among the top nations, maybe do better than what we did in South Africa in 2010, and we should forget that Morocco is the only African country to play in the World Cup semifinals, so we have to work very hard and I will ask the tough questions."

The Black Stars defeated Mali and the Central African Republic back-to-back to improve their prospects of qualifying after a dismal start to the qualifying campaign.
