The Constitutional Review Committee has made changes to its National Validation Zonal Engagements schedule, incorporating Sunyani as an additional venue. This revision follows recommendations from the public, demonstrating the committee’s commitment to inclusivity in the constitutional review process. A statement released on Monday, March 10, 2025, confirmed the updated schedule, which aims to gather nationwide input on possible amendments to the 1992 Constitution. The engagements will begin in Accra on April 7-8, followed by Tamale and Bolgatanga on April 10-11. Wa will host the forum on April 14-15, with Sunyani set for April 22-23. Other cities included in the schedule are Kumasi from April 25-26, Takoradi and Cape Coast from April 29-30, Koforidua from May 5-6, and Ho from May 8-9. These sessions will provide a platform for individuals, institutions, and key stakeholders to express their views and propose reforms that could shape the future of Ghana’s governance.

The committee is actively encouraging public participation to ensure the review process is representative of the diverse opinions and interests of Ghanaians. Citizens can contribute to the discussions in various ways, including attending the physical engagements, submitting their opinions via email at submissions@constitutionreviewgh.org, or utilizing the interactive website www.constitutionreviewgh.org. Additionally, written submissions can be delivered directly to the CRC Secretariat. By providing multiple avenues for engagement, the committee aims to foster broad-based contributions from all sectors of society, ensuring that the final recommendations reflect the collective aspirations of the people. The initiative underscores the importance of transparency and democratic involvement in constitutional reforms, reinforcing the principle that governance should be shaped by the citizens it serves.

Beyond the committee’s engagements, discussions on national development issues remain ongoing. For instance, there have been renewed calls for the completion of stalled Agenda 111 hospital projects, particularly at Nsuapemso Junction, with the Health Minister estimating a GHS140 million requirement to operationalize the Bokoro hospital. In other political and economic discussions, finance expert Bokpin has urged the government to reconsider taxation on betting, highlighting the need for a balanced fiscal policy that does not overly burden citizens. Meanwhile, Ghana’s entertainment industry has been in the spotlight, with Nigerian filmmaker Omoni Oboli expressing concerns over the unauthorized airing of her movies on Ghanaian television channels. In sports, Kwesi Appiah has voiced confidence in Sudan’s football potential following their AFCON qualification, while Hearts of Oak’s title prospects remain uncertain, according to Ouattara. These ongoing national and sectoral discussions emphasize the interconnected nature of governance, economy, and social development, reinforcing the necessity for constitutional amendments that align with Ghana’s evolving needs.
