Hackman Owusu-Agyemang Criticizes Adwoa Safo for Public Outbursts

Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Council of Elders, has strongly condemned former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo, for her public criticisms of party leadership. He described her actions as unacceptable and against party rules, stressing that such behavior would not be tolerated. Speaking on the rising tensions in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, he stated that the party’s General Secretary had already indicated that Safo would be referred to the disciplinary committee. According to him, party members are expected to follow internal procedures when addressing grievances rather than making public statements that could damage the NPP’s image. He firmly asserted that her continuous public criticism must come to an end.

Owusu-Agyemang emphasized that Adwoa Safo, having held senior positions within both the party and government, should understand the importance of party discipline. He stated that her recent comments and media engagements were inappropriate and violated party regulations. The Council of Elders believes that her actions undermine party unity and must be addressed. He further noted that while internal disagreements are normal in any political organization, they should be handled through the party’s internal structures rather than through the media. By continuously making public statements against the leadership, Safo is seen as disregarding party rules, which has prompted calls for disciplinary action against her.

Despite the growing tensions, Owusu-Agyemang expressed hope that the situation could be resolved amicably. He urged Adwoa Safo to stop making further public statements about the party, warning that failure to comply could result in consequences. The NPP leadership is committed to upholding party discipline and ensuring that internal matters remain within the party’s framework. He reiterated that Safo’s actions had disappointed many party members, and leadership expects her to abide by the directives given. Moving forward, the party will take necessary measures to maintain order and prevent such occurrences in the future. Ultimately, Owusu-Agyemang hopes that Safo will recognize her missteps and align herself with the party’s principles, allowing for a peaceful resolution of the matter.
