Szczesny is full of praise for Barça: "It's the most beautiful club I've ever played for."
The Pole is enjoying his time in Barcelona and continues to celebrate being unbeaten.
Wojciech Szczesny (34 years old) is winning the hearts of all the culés. The Polish goalkeeper, who arrived unexpectedly after Ter Stegen 's serious injury , is guarding the Barça goal and with him, Hansi Flick remains unbeaten in 2025. After the meritorious victory against Atlético in the Cup, the goalkeeper spoke to TVP Sports and was full of praise for Barça:
The footballer, who has a great sense of humor, joked with the journalist after telling him it had been a very difficult match and that he had made a couple of worthy saves, to which he replied: "I didn't make any crucial saves today. I had to pretend I was doing something." "Having fun?" the reporter persisted. "Yeah, I was just there, in a semifinal."
Afterwards, ' Tek ' explained, "We played a good game. Of course, Atlético pushed hard at the end because they had to score. They launched their players into attack, but we were very confident. It was a semifinal and they needed a goal to reach extra time and try to win the tie, so it's normal that we sat back a little. That doesn't mean we didn't want a second goal and a third; you have to suffer a little, but they didn't have a single shot on target. A professional performance."
He also highlighted the importance of the upcoming season for Barça : "We're at that stage of the season where every game is very important, a final. We have the dream of doing something big this season and we have the opportunity to do it, so we'll give it our all."
Asked if Barça is the most beautiful team he's ever played for, the former Juventus and Arsenal player had no doubts: "Yes, without a doubt. I can't deny that they're also the most effective team. Yesterday's game was my 19th without losing..." he joked.
Finally, he left the door open to more Polish players playing for Barcelona: "Playing for Barcelona is very interesting. I recommend it to all future Polish players. Work hard, maybe one day you'll have an opportunity like this."
