XABI ALONSO HAS 'GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT' OVER HIS FUTURE

It is becoming increasingly likely that Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso will succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid at the conclusion of the season. Additionally, the CEO of Leverkusen has disclosed that there is a "gentleman's agreement" in place, suggesting that he may be permitted to leave and assume leadership of a club for which he previously played. Xabi Alonso has a "gentleman's agreement" with Bayer Leverkusen that allows him to leave the team and take over as manager of one of his former clubs, such as Liverpool or Real Madrid. There is increasing speculation that this summer, Alonso, who played for Real from 2009 to 2014, will take over at the Bernabeu. Fernando Carro, CEO of Bayer Leverkusen, addressed the issue on Monday. Carro stated, "We'll know in a few weeks if there is a coaching change at our clubs, but the fact is that we are a very professional club and we have to be prepared for anything." "We knew Xabi would be a great coach from the moment we signed him, and when you sign one, you have to prepare others. His signing was not a one-time event. We first signed him for a year and a half, from 2024 to 2026. "We had faith that he would stay by signing him until 2026. We can sleep soundly, eat well for breakfast, and be ready for anything. "We have a gentleman's agreement, and we can sit down if a team he has played for comes along," In his stellar career, Alonso also played for Liverpool. After Jurgen Klopp left Anfield last year, there was a lot of talk about him taking over. However, the position was taken by Arne Slot, a Dutchman. In his first season with Liverpool, he is close to leading them to the Premier League title. Last season, Alonso led Leverkusen to the UEFA Europa League final and a domestic double in Germany. Leverkusen's second-place finish in the Bundesliga appears certain following Sunday's 1-1 draw at St. With just four games remaining, Pauli leaves them eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
