Asante Kotoko is in negotiations to hire Isaac Amoako, the team's former captain, as its next goalkeeper coach.
The decision comes after Najahu Issah, who spent years working for the club as the goalkeeper's trainer, was fired.
Amoako is anticipated to support the Porcupine Warriors' season-long preparations by contributing his extensive knowledge and track record of goalkeeping improvement. The Kotoko supporters are familiar with Amoako.
After an incredible first season in the Ghana Premier League, he joined the team from BA United in 2007 and stayed for ten years.
He became known as one of the best and most reliable goalkeepers in the league throughout his tenure at the club, winning four Ghana Premier League championships and six FA Cups.
Amoako has been employed as a goalie trainer for Dreams FC, Nsoatreman FC, and Medeama SC since he retired from sport.
