Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has revealed that he is very happy at the club. According to reports by Fabrizio Romano, Flick has already been offered a new deal by Barcelona. Speaking at a press conference ahead of their match against Espanyol, Flick revealed that:
“I don't think about other teams. All of my energy is for Barça. I love working for them. It's a fantastic job, and our fans are amazing... I only focus on that.”
Regarding a new deal, the coach revealed that he would love to stay at Barcelona for one more year. He stated that it was not the time to comment on a new deal, but he expressed his desire to stay for another year, adding that he is very happy at the club. Flick has won two trophies this season: the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid. Barcelona, under Flick, could potentially win their third title, La Liga, if they win their game against Espanyol.
In the press conference, Flick also defended Ronald Araujo, who faced criticism for his poor defense against Inter Milan, which led to their fourth goal and knocked Barça out of the Champions League. Flick revealed that everyone makes mistakes and that he had already spoken to Araujo.
Flick also addressed various issues, including their win against Real Madrid, noting that he was proud of his team. Flick joined Barcelona in 2024, replacing club legend Xavi. Since Flick joined, Barcelona has gone 5/5 in El Clásicos, including a pre-season friendly. The club, under Flick, narrowly missed out on the Champions League final due to individual mistakes. Despite missing out on the UCL, Flick has taken the club out of the mud. Not only that, but the coach has unlocked Raphinha, who was set to be sold at the beginning of the season. Now, the Brazilian is an important part of the team, recently scoring a brace against Real Madrid.
Next season, Flick will be the coach hoping for a UCL win with new defensive signings and further La Masia integrations, which could help them secure Barcelona's 6th UCL.
