GOVERNMENT PULLS BRAKES ON E-LEVY BILL AS IT FAILS TO PRESENT IT BEFORE FINANCE COMMITTEE

A part of the Finance Committee in Parliament, John Jinapor has uncovered that the Finance Ministry fizzled to display the Electronic Exchange Exact e-require (e - levy) Charge for thought.

The e-require Charge was expected to be laid some time recently the Fund Committee in Parliament on Friday after Speaker Alban Bagbin alluded it to the Committee for encourage consultations.

Talking to JoyNews’ parliamentary journalist, Kwesi Parker Wilson, Mr Jinapor said the Charge was not displayed to them as expected.

He famous that the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Kwaku Kwarteng reported to individuals that government has pulled the brakes on the e-exact (e-levy). Concurring to the Yapei Kusawgu MP, the Committee chair did not give reasons for the non-presentation of the Charge for their thought.

“We fair wrapped up the Finance Committee assembly, we did two assentions. One advance understanding for the purchase of air ship for military preparing, the moment needs to do with the World Bank office for the mining segment. We were expected to consider the e-require and to decide the way forward. Mr. Chairman fair declared that we are incapable to require the e-require nowadays.

As Parliament is expected to rise on Friday, John Jinapor said the Committee would need to hold up for course on the way forward.


Since it was proposed, the e-exact has caused tumults from the Minority and other stakeholders because it is considered to have the potential to worsen the financial hardship within the nation.


The Minority have called for the suspension of the exact, stressing that it is disagreeable and regressive. Insight Ofori-Atta whereas perusing the budget reported that income from the e-require would be utilized to build streets within the nation, among others.
