A young man has found himself in police custody after allegedly faking robbery attack to pocket a company's cash of ghc69,000.

The suspect who goes by the Me kataso claimed the incident occurred on 11th February 2022 around the National theatre.

The police reports indicated Mr kataso filed for a report on 11th February that two hun men had robbed him of ghc69,000 money he was instructed to deposit at the bank by his boss.

However, after an investigation by the police, it turned out the whole thing was a hoax and that he did all that to keep the cash to himself.

During interrogation by the police, Mr kataso confessed that he staged the robbery so he could keep the money and travel abroad with it since it was enough to get him a passport and a visa.

As of now, the money has been retrieved as evidence for Mr kataso to be sent to court.
