Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bayer Leverkusen thanks to an own goal by Thomas Muller.

After Leverkusen failed to clear a corner, Bayern Munich's Niklas Sule scored the game's first goal at the Allianz Arena.

Muller, on the other hand, was unopposed when he deflected Kerem Demirbay's free-kick into his own net nine minutes before half-time.

Bayern Munich leads the table by nine points, with Borussia Dortmund in second place having a game in hand.

Bayern was in command after Sule's goal, with 18 shots to Leverkusen's nine.

On the hour mark, Bayern's Robert Lewandowski nearly missed a penalty, while Leverkusen's Lukas Hradecky made an easy save to deny substitute Marcel Sabitzer, as Leverkusen became only the third side to beat Bayern at home this season.

Leverkusen is 14 points behind Bayern in third place.
