Dr. Etse Sika Anku, a senior lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), believes the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) propaganda machine can't do as much damage to Alan Kyerematen as it can to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The study added that the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, is a clean candidate who can make a difference for the NPP and beat the NDC's propaganda in the 2024 general election.
This, he claims, is due to Mr. Kyerematen's lack of "propaganda. "When Alan gets in, he may run as a new candidate, and 2024 will not be a referendum, but a change election, since people want something fresh after the eighth year," he explained. Dr. Etse Sika Anku, who is also the Director of the Directorate for Research, Innovations, and Development (DRID), backed up this claim on Good Evening Ghana, saying that putting Alan Kyerematen as the NPP's candidate for 2024 will help the party get the requisite numbers and votes.
"He is not a central figure in the Akufo-Addo government as Bawumia is, so he can always argue that he represents a new face to the party and that he has a different way of doing things," he added.
