Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President, has stated that residents of Greater Accra have been bothering him with calls for the Adenta-Dodowa Road to be dualized.
He was speaking to Lu Kun, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador, at the sod-cutting ceremony for the Sinohydro project's 100-kilometer inner-city route in Kumasi.
The Vice President stated that the Adenta-Dodowa project has been stalled and requested Chinese government assistance in completing it.
"You are aware that there is one project for which I have been phoning you [the Chinese Ambassador] on a daily basis. That is in Greater Accra because Greater Accra residents have been bothering me about the Adenta-Dodowa dualisation.
Dr. Bawumia stated, "I am hoping that with your assistance, we will be able to get that project started for the people between Adenta and Dodowa."
The Adenta-Dodowa road is one of 10 lots approved as part of the $2 Sinohydro billion Chinese-sponsored initiative, which was set to commence in 2019.
Three years later, the road is still unfinished and in a condition of disrepair, with traffic congestion getting worse by the day.

The non-completion of various infrastructure projects under the Sinohydro deal with China was defended by the government in 2021.
According to the administration, the apparent halt in project activity is due to the staggered plan along which the projects are supposed to begin."They have done over $100 million worth of work from 2019," according to the Vice President's Office.
In May 2018, the government and Sinohydro inked a Master Project Support Agreement for the construction of vital infrastructure in exchange for Ghana's refined bauxite revenues.
