In a dispute with a commercial 'trotro' driver and his assistance, a city guard of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is said to have been stabbed to death.

At the Kejetia Lorry Terminal, the 50-year-old Thomas Amakye Yankey, also known as Congo Soldier, was stabbed many times in the neck and stomach with a knife.

He was injured and died in the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) after being referred from an Adum clinic.

According to police sources, the deceased attempted to stop the driver from loading passengers at an unlicensed location, which resulted in a brawl.

The dead allegedly harassed the driver on multiple occasions, according to the driver.

The driver alleges that the deceased struck him in the head with an object without provocation on this occasion.

Later, a Congo soldier was stabbed.

According to sources, the motorist was treated for a head injury and released under police supervision.

The driver and his aide have been taken into jail by the police.
