6 PEOPLE WITHOUT ACCREDITATION ARRESTED AT NPP NORTHERN REGION CONFAB

The police detained six persons who entered the Northern Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) conference grounds without credentials and were voting for new officers to manage the party for the next four years.

They were rumored to have arrived before the delegates.

 

 

They were apprehended and handed over to the authorities to be escorted to the police station when they were discovered, according to Mohammed Fugu.

 

 

 

The six were also detained for attempting to stir up unrest during the NPP conference, which was held at the Tamale Stadium, according to officials.

They allegedly entered the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, the conference's location, without the required accreditation.

 

According to Graphic Online, they broke into the venue on Thursday night and were hiding inside.

 

 

 

The individuals were apprehended based on intelligence, according to Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga of the Northern Regional Police Crime Unit.

 

 

 

"We didn't want to wait for them to start causing trouble before we intervened, so we arrested them and took them to the police station," he explained.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the venue's security has been tightened up to guarantee a peaceful election.  A total of 386 delegates are anticipated to vote for the 31 candidates running for various seats.

 

Mohammed Adam Bantima Samba, the current Regional Chairman, is in a battle with Amadu Inusah and Ibrahim Mahama.

 

 

 

Four candidates are vying for the role of First Vice Chairman.

 

 

 

Three candidates are vying for the role of Second Vice Chairman.

 

 

 

Four candidates are competing for the secretary job, while four people are competing for the assistant secretary position. Two people are vying for the role of treasurer, while two more are vying for the position of organizer. Mohammed Alhassan, better known as Alhassan Ghana, the incumbent Youth Organiser, is up against heavy competition from two other candidates.

 

Three candidates are also vying for the job of Women's Organiser, while three candidates are fighting for the position of Nasara Coordinator.
