Mr Anthony Namoo, the newly re-elected Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, has challenged party members to show the same fervor as they did in the regional election in order to win more parliamentary seats in the Region in the 2024 general elections.
He praised party members in the region for their energy, resources, and hard work in ensuring their favored candidates won different regional positions, and urged them to exhibit the same zeal to help the Party win in 2024.
"Never in the history of our Regional executive election has passion so strong and resources been invested," Mr Namoo, a legal practitioner, said in his victory address.
"Party members were able to mobilize resources, but when it came to parliamentary elections, we all folded our arms and looked to the parliamentary candidate to handle everything." I had no idea there were so many individuals with so much money to spend on internal elections."
"It is my wish that the same enthusiasm and energy that we used in the regional election be employed in the legislative and presidential elections in December 2024," he stated.
Mr Namoo, who received 114 votes out of 306 valid votes to keep his post, thanked Party delegates for their trust and promised to bring new energy, ideas, and expertise to the party.
"I pray that the Lord would touch everyone's hearts so that we may grow the Party together and make it better and stronger in the Upper East Region," the Chairman-elect remarked.
He warned fellow elected officials against attacking party members, saying, "We are elected to serve the Party; we are not elected to undermine one another." It is my hope that we can all work together."
