NLA DEPUTY DIRECTOR RE-ELECTED NPP WESTERN REGIONAL TREASURER

Madam Horma Akaisi Miezah, the Deputy Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), was re-elected as the governing New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Western Regional Treasurer in the just-concluded regional executive elections.

 

Madam Akaisi Horma Miezah, who became the NPP's Western Regional Treasurer for the first time in 2018, emerged victorious in the treasurer election held at Nzema Manle Complex in Ampain in the Ellembelle District on Saturday, May 28, 2022, polling 175 votes to defeat her main competitor, Rhoda Efe Eshun, who polled 155 votes.

 

 

 

There was one spoiled ballot paper reported.

In all, 331 delegates voted for 31 candidates for the ten open posts in the area, which was overseen by the Western Regional Electoral Commission and COCOBOD Board Chairman, Mr. Peter Mac Manu.

 

Madam Horma Akaisi Miezah thanked the delegates for placing their trust in her by appointing her to supervise the party's finances in the region for the next four years, speaking to reporters in the area following the race.

 

 

 

She vowed to work relentlessly with other elected regional executives to ensure that the party gets more Parliamentary seats in the Western Region and that their presidential candidate receives a larger vote share.

"I'm overjoyed at the trust placed in me; I thank God for this triumph; I thank all the delegates who voted for me and those who did not." "I'd want to take this occasion to commit to working with other elected officials to ensure that we win more Parliamentary seats in the Western Region and that our presidential candidate receives a larger vote in 2024," she added.

 

 

She also vowed to hold fundraisers on a regular basis to collect cash for the party's expansion in the region. Madam Akaisi Miezah, a member of the Ellembelle District, indicated that she will advocate for some of the party's teeming jobless youngsters to be given lucrative jobs to support their families.

She took use of the occasion to urge the party's rank and file to put their differences aside and work together as a family to assist the NPP administration win the 2018 general election.

 

"I shall encourage all party members to put their differences aside and join together as one family to assist the Akufo-Addo government in working hard for the country and to help the party win the general elections in 2024," she said.

 

 

 

Madam Akaisi Miezah, who was in a serious car accident a day before the election, took the opportunity to thank God for saving her life, saying, "I got serious accident a day before the election and I was saved, although my vehicle was damaged,
