Even though Manchester City won the Premier League, only three players were named to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

Manchester City won the Premier League on the final day, their fourth title in five seasons, defeating Liverpool. Despite their victory, just three City players made the cut, while six Liverpool players did.

Alisson, the goalkeeper for Liverpool, has had an outstanding season, winning the Premier League Golden Glove Award. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joao Cancelo, Antonio Rudiger, and Virgil Van Dijk make up the back four.

Thiago Alcantara, despite only making 17 league starts this season, is picked in the midfield with Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

After sharing the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah, Heung-Min Son will be disappointed to be left out of the leading three.

Salah is part of an offensive three that also includes Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, a Liverpool colleague.

After an outstanding season, several Manchester City players may feel aggrieved that they did not make the starting eleven. Rodri and Ruben Dias, for example, may believe they are deserving of a spot on the squad of the year.

Gavi, a Liverpool target, is the subject of conflicting reports.

Gavi has been courted by teams outside of Barcelona since being called up to the Spain squad at the age of 17 and was honored as the youngest scorer in the history of the Spanish national team. Gavi is now in contract discussions with the Catalans, despite the fact that he will not turn 18 until August, according to several reports.

Liverpool has been associated with Gavi the most in the Premier League, and the Liverpool Echo picked up on a report from the La Porteria claiming that Gavi's agents had rejected Barcelona's latest offer. Not only that, but they called it "abysmal."

Gavi is represented by Ivan de la Pena, a former Barcelona and Lazio footballer, and according to ESPN Deportes, things aren't that terrible. Despite the fact that the two sides have yet to reach a deal, their sources claim that Gavi's team is "cool" about the situation and pleased with the path of discussions.

The player is said to want to stay at Barcelona, and it seems likely that he will, with President Joan Laporta eager on securing the club's top young prospects for the next several years. The contracts for Ansu Fati, Pedri Gonzalez, and Ronald Araujo demonstrate this method.
