What is the finest football team in the world? There will never be a "right" answer, and the dispute will never be resolved. The debate will never end, the big powers will never cease to feud, and football will never be entirely conquered.
At the start of 2022, several of the world's greatest teams were optimistic. The Champions League knockout stages demonstrated how good certain clubs were in comparison to others.
Football is regaining its footing. However, which team is currently on top of the world?
The top ten best football teams in the world at the start of 2022 are shown below.
Manchester City is number one in the Premier League.
The top three on this list appear to be in a league of their own, and it will take years to get rid of them. On the basis of pure trophies, Liverpool might be dropped, leaving Bayern and City at the top.
City is always coming up with new ways to win football games. It's as simple as that.
When things go wrong for Pep Guardiola, such as failing to replace a major player like Sergio Aguero up front, he always finds a way to cope.
Bayern Munich is ranked second.
The Bundesliga has won nine times in a row, the German Cup five times, and the Champions League twice in the last nine years. Bayern Munich has shown to be a dependable team.
They have the best striker in the world, Robert Lewandowski, who, despite scoring 41 goals in just 29 league games last season, was cruelly overlooked for the Ballon d'Or this season.
3. The city of Liverpool
Liverpool hasn't had a particularly "clean" season thus far, but their offensive lineup includes the world's hottest player.
Salah is a dangerous striker. The Egyptian King has been in some of his wildest form yet this season. In 2021/22, Sadio Mane has moved up and Diogo Jota has easily blended into the team.
PSG is number four.
Many people would not like to hear or admit it, but PSG is suddenly a major European player. Their form has been average in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and they've done enough without going above and beyond, but defeating Manchester City this season was a massive show of might.
Chelsea is number five.
They are at the top of the list since they were the Champions League champions the previous season. They won the most toughest club competition in the country. They've also won top prizes around Europe and excelled in domestic events.
Real Madrid is ranked number six.
While their fierce rivals, Barcelona, have receded from prominence, Carlo Ancelotti's players continue to be a consistent force in Spain and in Europe.
Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric continue to be the team's backbone as they remain atop La Liga and in the Champions League.
7. Interaction
Inter has remained one of Serie A's powerhouses this season. They made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League, but in a shabby fashion.
Juventus is ranked eighth.
Juventus has wavered throughout the COVID epidemic, a historic powerhouse that has governed Italy for the last decade. In the Seria A of Italy, this club has a very good record.
Manchester United (nine)
Manchester United may be the most contentious team on our list, but anyone with a longer memory than a few months will know that the Red Devils are far from finished.
United had a winning streak last season. With Bruno Fernandes in tantalizing form and brilliant new acquisitions like Jadon Sancho, not to mention Cristiano Ronaldo, things were looking up.
Ajax is number ten.
The list starts with a historical behemoth that has been resurrected. Despite the fact that Ajax has fallen short of their previous glory, Amsterdam has recently recovered their sheen.
The Dutch national team had an outstanding season in 2019, reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
That squad was divided and scattered around Europe, but Erik ten Hag reunited it and guided it to victory in all six Champions League group games this season.
