On Monday, the 16 Regional Women Organisers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) filed nomination papers for Kate Gyamfua, the party's National Women Organiser, to run for re-election.
The gift is being made in recognition of Ms Gyamfua's remarkable leadership abilities over the last four years, according to the Women Organisers.

She hosted a historic national women's conference in Takoradi in December 2019, which was the first national women's rally/conference held by a political party in the fourth republic. She had previously held regional women's conferences in each of the 16 areas.
In 2019, she also arranged an empowerment conference in Kumasi for all regional women and deputy women organizers, and she was one of the first national executives to inspect all freshly built facilities.
Ms Gyamfua has been described as the most conspicuous NPP woman organizer among women's organizations such as queen moms and market women associations.
She aided all constituencies across the country logistically by providing resources such as motorcycles. During the peak of the covid-19 epidemic, she also delivered medical equipment and Covid-19 personal protective equipment (PPE) to various hospitals around the country.
The North East Region's La Polyclinic, Koforidua St Joseph's Hospital, and Langbinsi Health Centre are among the beneficiaries, while the Ashanti region's Bawku Presbyterian Hospital, Wa Municipal Hospital, Teshie Orphanage Home, Sogakope District Hospital, and Ejisu government Hospital are among the beneficiaries.
She is also known for leading various advocacy projects during her first time in office, including a call for women to collaborate.
