The Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, says the government relies on traditional leaders to promote local communities.

She stated that the government will continue to involve chiefs and queens in identifying and addressing the people's development needs as the personification of the people and custodians of culture and tradition.

As part of her day's business tour to the area, the Regional Minister spoke with members of the Awuah-Domase Traditional Council in the Sunyani West Municipality.

The Minister was accompanied by other senior personnel from the Regional Coordinating Council on the tour, which allowed him to connect with the people and identify developmental difficulties in the municipality, as well as assure them that efforts would be made by the government to solve them.

The Municipal Assembly, as well as other state agencies and organizations in the municipality, play a role in this.

Mad Owusu-Banahene stated that the support of chiefs and queens is always required in the implementation of government policies and programs, adding that the implementation of the electronic transaction levy (E-levy) necessitated the support of traditional authorities for the nation to reap the desired benefits.

Already, the Regional Minister stated that she had sent major development concerns, such as the Odumase town roads, to the proper authorities, and that the reshaping of the roads will be visible to the public shortly.

She asked the chiefs to be security vigilant and assist in the identification of persons with unusual movements and suspect personalities in their communities.

Mr. Kusi Buadum, the Sunyani West Municipal Chief Executive, expressed gratitude on behalf of the administration.  Key figures from the traditional Area have made significant contributions to the country's development.

He notably addressed the late Mr. Joseph Henry Mensah, a former minister of state and a native of the town, adding that the government will honor the late statesman's outstanding accomplishments by remodelling the Odumase town roadways in his honor.
