Arise Ghana, a pressure organisation, has invited Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey, a statesman and important figure in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), to discuss the group's goals and actions with him.
The call was made as part of the Group's mobilisation efforts for its upcoming mega demonstration on June 28 and 29, in Accra, according to a statement released by Mr. Ishaq Awudu, National Communication Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) and a Leading Member of Arise Ghana, and forwarded to the Ghana News Agency.
The leadership of Arise Ghana preached the urgent need for a patriotic and action-oriented vehicle to demand responsibility from the duty bearers of the country, according to the report, during a meeting with Dr. Wereko-Brobbey at his apartment in Accra.
in light of the terrible challenges Ghanaians currently face.
According to the statement, Dr. Wereko-Brobbey was overjoyed to welcome the group.
It was noticed that Dr. Wereko-Brobbey urged the Group to utilise its constitutional right to demonstrate without wavering in his words.
To force the government to pay attention to the concerns of the Ghanaian people, he urged the group to mobilise a record number of people.
The statement said that Dr. Wereko-video Brobbey's support of the upcoming protest set for June 28 and 29 in Accra served as the meeting's high point.
It stated that Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the ruling NPP, made a similar support during a courtesy call. According to the statement, Arise Ghana is a group of political party leaders, media professionals, members of civil society, creative artists, and trade unionists, among others, who are devoted to zealously championing the interests of the Ghanaian people as a whole, giving voice to the voiceless, and pursuing reforms that would improve the socioeconomic, politico-social, and overall wellbeing of Ghanaian citizens.
According to the statement, the Group was planning a historic two-day protest in Accra on June 28 and 29, 2022, to denounce the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government's ongoing and exorbitant gasoline price increases, which have put Ghanaians' lives in painful financial misery.
It stated that it was also in protest of the callous Akufo-Addo/imposition Bawumia's of the annoying E-Levy on the already-burdened Ghanaians. Government and demand a thorough, partisan parliamentary investigation into COVID-19 expenses.
Others will demonstrate against the administration of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia's officials seizing State lands, notably the declassification of major areas of the Achimota Forest reserve.
The remaining are to demand the complete cancellation of the fraudulent "Agyapa" deal and protest the rise in police brutality and state-sponsored killings of innocent Ghanaians, as well as the culture of human rights abuses under the watch of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
