At the recent 2022 Health, Environment, Safety and Security (HESS) Awards ceremony held at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra, Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited took home five honours.
The Bank won awards for Best Company in Data Security Management, Best Company in Fire Safety and Security Management, and Most Safety and Security Conscious Company of the Year.
The HESS Exemplary Leadership Award went to Julian Opuni, Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Ghana (Banking & Finance). At the same time, Ebenezer Gbolonyo, the Bank's manager of environment, health, and safety, was named the HESS Male Personality of the Year.
The HESS Award aims to recognise and honour organisations that place a high priority on employee safety and security as well as occupational health, the environment, and environmental stewardship.
Speaking about the honours received, Fidelity Bank's managing director, Julian Opuni, said that they are proof of the bank's dedication to security in all areas of operations.
"Fidelity Bank is particularly proud of winning five accolades in a competition that honours businesses for their commitment to putting employees' health, safety, security, and the environment first.
"All of the effort we undertake to protect the safety of all stakeholders is validated by this. We would like to thank the organisers for this significant acknowledgment.

The Fidelity MD continued, "I also like to dedicate these prizes to all dedicated employees of Fidelity Bank and our devoted clients whose support and commitment continue to encourage us to greater heights.
In these areas, Fidelity Bank was chosen as the champion due to its regular security awareness training for all employees and partner agents.
It was also brought on by the Bank's recent electronic system update and the measures it took to set up a remote backup for CCTV video with AI capabilities.
Furthermore, the Bank's programme to educate workers on general Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) problems, such as emergency preparedness and first aid techniques, The awards took into account the usage of relevant HSE indicators as well as occupational calamities like fire and flooding.
The detection was made possible, among other things, by the Bank's ability to monitor its whole branch network, office ATMs, and other collecting locations in real-time via an internet protocol from a central monitoring station.
The achievement of internationally recognised ISO and PCI-DSS certifications by Fidelity Bank was also appreciated and helped the company win the title of Best Company in Data Security Management.
The Bank keeps upholding its reputation as an indigenous company with high standards and a pioneer in innovation.
