Eric Mensah-Ayettey is an editor at MyJoyOnline.com, a division of The Multimedia Group, and the author of two publications that seek to improve the writing abilities of communication students and professionals.

"Eric's Diary: A Guide to Writing Feature Articles Using The 5ws And H + M, O/R" is one of the books. and "Eric's Diary: Using the 5Ws and H to Write Creatively."

The two volumes were formally released for public purchase at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Ghana Institute of Journalism's Dzorwulu Campus.

Eric Mensah-Ayettey, the creator of the enlightening materials, thanked God throughout his address for the initiative's success. With his wife, Joy Awula Dede Sackey Ayettey, by his side, the 25-year communications veteran revealed that he is also a writer.

He had recognised the difficulties that many people had in expressing their ideas clearly.

He claims that even though many individuals want to write, they have trouble organising their ideas and turning them into scripts that have any kind of significance.

Therefore, Ericus, as he is lovingly known, claimed that this drove him to compile the two educational resources.

"Over the course of my 25 years as a communications professional, I have seen that most individuals struggle with writing. From straightforward formal letters to news releases, fact sheets, rejoinders, position papers, speeches, and policy briefs, to name a few.

I came to understand that most individuals find it difficult to put on writing what they are trying to say.  The problem, in my opinion, is that many people do not understand grammatical rules. They primarily don't read for this reason. They also don't listen to decent English, he said.

This necessitates additional effort at the basic and senior school levels, he continued. I implore educators at various levels of our educational system to develop the appropriate pedagogical techniques to reverse this circumstance.

I think that by providing advice to everyone whose job requires writing, I can help to make things better as a communications professional. among others, secretaries, administrators, attorneys, journalists, public relations practitioners, and journalism and PR students.

The Anglican Bishop of Accra, Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah, who hosted the book launch, praised the author for releasing the two works effectively.

In his speech, he emphasised the importance of reading and urged everyone to support these two works.

"I am certain that the book will succeed in its goal of adding to the body of knowledge already available on writing techniques for both students and communications professionals. In fact, as the author advised, I also found it to be helpful for those whose jobs require writing of any kind.

I want to urge everyone to let God lead in all of our endeavours as Eric puts his signature on each of the articles. He won't ever leave us.

On that basis, he said, "I thus proclaim these volumes properly launched on behalf of the Anglican Communion and in my role as the Bishop of the Diocese of Accra, in the name of the Almighty God. May the Those-Powerful God provide Eric's hands blessings and all who donate to this deserving cause their heart's wishes.
