Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Sevilla centre-back Jules Koundé according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs

Chelsea have concurred personal terms with Sevilla focus back Jules Koundé as per CBS correspondent Ben Jacobs while speaking to GiveMeSport on Tuesday, albeit a transition to Barcelona may now be in the offing.Thomas Tuchel's side are needing a middle back, with Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen both having left the club this summer.

Sevilla's head of football Monchi spoke to Mundo Deportivo before in July, suggesting that various clubs (counting sides from England) were interested in signing Koundé this summer, before name dropping Chelsea in the interview.

In any case, the La Liga side's boss also let the power source know that Barcelona lead trainer Xavi was a major admirer of the 23-year-old.

As per the Mirror, Chelsea have held an interest in Koundé for quite a while, and almost certainly, the Premier League side will strike an arrangement for different focus backs this summer, following the takeoff of the previously mentioned team.

What's more, Jacobs believes that there is a positive interest from the west London club for the 11-time France international, however there is an opportunity the arrangement could go to pieces on the off chance that it does not get closed rapidly.

The thing has Jacobs said about Koundé?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Sevilla need almost £60m.

"Chelsea have concurred personal terms yet the more drawn out this one drags the almost certain the arrangement could be commandeered by another club."

"Koundé wants his future resolved soon and still little progress is being made among Chelsea and Sevilla."

Will Koundé join Chelsea?

Whilst Chelsea are probably going to go for more than one place back this summer, quite possibly the more drawn out the arrangement goes on for Koundé, the more probable Tuchel's side will continue on toward different targets this summer, with the Premier League start off now less than a month away.

The Premier League side have currently successfully secured the signing of Napoli and Senegal focus back Kalidou Koulibaly for a bundle worth generally £33.8m.

Fabrizio Romano also suggests that Chelsea are also dealing with a bid for their previous focus back Nathan Aké, with the Netherlands international presently carrying out his specialty at Manchester City.

In any case, there is no question that Tuchel wouldn't resent the signing of Koundé, and on the off chance that Chelsea could get it over the line for the £54m-evaluated focus back, the club could start to take a gander at different areas of the pitch they could strengthen.

Whilst it seems that other focus back targets are closer to a transition to Stamford Bridge than the Sevilla man, his appearance in west London should not be precluded because of this and come August, Chelsea might have another look defense on their hands.
