Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the minister of education, has stated that Ghanaian medical students who were forced from their institutions in Ukraine due to the war will be accepted to Ghanaian colleges to finish their degrees.

A committee led by the Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Nsiah Asare, has been established, according to the Minister, who was replying to inquiries in Parliament on Wednesday. This group has identified the pupils who are impacted, according to the Minister.

He said that the list of candidates for admission to Ghana's medical institutions is now being audited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

I have established a committee headed by Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, the presidential health adviser, to prepare a list of all the people affected by what is happening to them right now. ; displaced college students from the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

"The Committee is made up of members from all interested parties, including the deans of each Ghanaian medical school. The Committee has gathered data on 300 kids thus far. When the procedure is through, the qualified students would be admitted into our Ghanaian universities at various levels, he added. The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) is now certifying their credentials.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which broke out a few months ago, has a wide range of effects on many people. One such group is Ghanaian students in Ukraine who are fleeing for their safety and are now looking for assistance so they may return to school and finish their education.

In order to develop policies to support their integration into Ghanaian institutions so they may continue their education, the government in May formed a 13-member committee.

The Student Representative Council (SRC), the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Ministry of Health, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the Medical and Dental Council, the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, vice chancellors of medical schools, and the rector of the College of Physicians and Surgeons are among the organisations represented on the Committee.
