Dr. Clement Apaak, a member of parliament representing Builsa South, has said that it is impossible to meet the revised deadline for the SIM re-registration procedure.

The deadline of July 31 was extended by two additional months by Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister of Communications and Digitalization, because many people were unable to obtain their card. After the initial prolongation on Thursday, March 31, it was the second.

In a news conference on Sunday, Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful stated that she had to "reluctantly" extend the deadline once more. "I have very reluctantly decided to give a final conditional extension after consulting with the industry and in light of the issues listed above." According to her, with this most recent choice, the workout, which began on Friday, October 1, will have been completed precisely one year ago.

"The programme will continue through September 30 in order to terminate on the anniversary of its start. We will then have a full year of SIM registration thanks to it. On the New Day programme on TV3 with Berla Mundi on Tuesday, August 2, when asked if the timetables could be met, Dr. Clement Apaak responded, "I don't think they are, for obvious reasons.

"First of all, technology is meant to make life simpler, as we all know...

Technology is meant to improve our lives and make them simpler, but when attempts are made to bring it to every person, some people start to feel as though they are being punished. That cannot possibly be something that they will do. "The timelines are not realistic," Prof. Ken Attafuah of the National Identification Authority claims, "because it is virtually impossible for all Ghanaians to register before the end of the extended deadline given the volume of work that they still have to do in relation to the reluctant extension."
