Brigitte Dzogbenuku, a Progressive People's Party (PPP) presidential candidate for 2020, has stated her ambition to lead her party into the general elections in 2024. On Tuesday, August 2, she made the announcement while speaking on the political and current events programme GhanAkoma on Akoma FM.
In order for my people to choose me to represent the PPP in 2024, I still intend to run during the congress, Madam Dzogbenuku stated to the show's presenter Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin. The Progressive People's Party (PPP) outdoored Bridget Dzogbenuku as their flagbearer prior to the 2020 national elections.
She led the party into the December elections and engaged in a competitive race with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP), the two major parties. At the next party congress, Madam Dzogbenuku is running for re-election.
She believes that if Ghana is not freed from the two major parties' control, the future would be intolerable; for this reason, she is pleading with Ghanaians to abandon the NPP and NDC in favour of the PPP in order to safeguard Ghana's future for sustainable development.
Bridgette Dzogbenuku: who is she?
A politician and former Miss Ghana, Brigitte Dzogbenuku. She ran for president in 2020 on behalf of the Progressive People's Party. Dzogbenuku completed her secondary school at Cape Coast's Wesley Girls High School. She continued on to the University of Ghana where she completed her studies for a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages.
Dzogbenuku was a columnist for Graphic Mirror under the name Manners Matter at the Graphic Communication Group Limited.
She formerly served as the Aviation Social Center's general manager. She also collaborated with SC Johnson Wax Ghana and the Ashanti Goldfields Corporation. In 1991, Dzogbenuku became victorious in the Miss Ghana pageant. She additionally received the 2008 Fortune/Goldman Sachs Women's Leadership Award.
Mentoring Women Ghana (MWG), which provides programmes to encourage and empower young women and girls to make a good difference in their communities, was founded by Brigitte Dzogbenuku. She also serves as its executive director. In 2008, she was presented with the Fortune/Goldman Sachs Women's Leadership Award.
