- Fred Pappoe Kotoko-Hearts Africa struggles are self-inflicted
Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, according to former vice president of the Ghana Football Association Fred Pappoe, are to blame for their failures on the continent.
The two Ghanaian heavyweights haven't had any trouble making an impression in recent CAF Inter-club competitions.
After losing to RC Kadiogo of Burkina Faso on penalties in the first round of the Champions League qualifying matches, Kotoko was eliminated.
Hearts of Oak, their rivals, are also in danger of going home after losing 3-0 to Real Bamako of Mali in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Hearts' actions serve as a good illustration. Who does that if you want to fire Samuel Boadu and have a week to travel to Africa? Additionally, Kotoko sold the majority of its players, and when you do that, you'll undoubtedly be expelled, the speaker declared.
When Hearts of Oak plays Real Bamako in the second leg on Sunday at 15:00 GMT, David Ocloo will serve as the team's assistant coach. Kotoko, coached by Seydou Zerbo of Burkina Faso, will look to get rolling as soon as the Ghana Premier League's injunction is lifted.
