The skilled coach is anticipated to work alongside the technical group overseen by Burkinabe coach Seydou Zerbo.

He joins the Porcupine Warriors as Seydou Zerbo's assistant coach as they look to make a mark in the 2022–2023 campaign.

We are excited to have Coach Orlando Wellington on board as the first team assistant coach. According to a club statement.

After leading Berekum Chelsea to a historic achievement in 2010 after finishing the season as Premier League champions, Wellington has extensive experience in the Ghana Premier League.

When the Black Satellites won the 2009 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, he was Sellas Tetteh's assistant.

After stepping down as the head coach of Division One League team Wa Suntaa FC, Wellington has been free.

He has also played for Heart of Lions, a defunct Ghana Premier League team.

The suspension of the Ghana Premier League for the 2022 World Cup, according to Asante Kotoko assistant coach Abdulai Gazale, will aid the team in recovering and reorganizing.

In the eighth matchweek, RTU overcame a deficit to defeat the reigning champions at the Aliu Mahama stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors' Georges Mfegue scored the game's first goal, but the Tamale-based team quickly responded with goals from Issah Kuka and Dabvid Abagna in the 64th and 65th minutes, respectively.

Coach Gazale told StarTimes, "Looking at the manner we performed from the beginning of the season up until now, the past two matches that we have played."

"In terms of ball possession and how to penetrate the opponent's defensive lines, we have lost focus.

"And I think we need to focus on it. We are ready to go as soon as we can secure that specific one.

With 14 points, Kotoko is in third place overall in the league, two points off the lead held by Aduana Stars.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which began on November 20, 2022 in Doha, has put the Ghana Premier League on hiatus; play will resume next month.
