Gladson Awako, a midfielder for Hearts of Oak, has renewed his agreement with the team.
The 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup champion committed to a one-year contract with an extension option, keeping him with the team through 2024.
In August 2021, Awako transferred from local rivals Great Olympics to the Phobians following an impressive performance with the Dade boys in Ghana's premier division.
The Black Galaxies' captain was given a new contract because of his excellent performance since joining the Phobians.
The former Ghana U-20 star is presently training with the Black Galaxies as part of the national squad as they get ready for the CHAN competition in Algeria in early January.
Awako led the Black Galaxies to victory against Nigeria so that they could compete in the tournament the following year.

After 90 minutes of action-packed play, Hearts of Oak prevailed 1-0 thanks to a goal by Kwadwo Obeng Jr. in the 54th minute.
In a post-game interview with StarTimes, the striker noted that despite all the commotion around the club, he was proud of his teammates for pulling off the challenging away victory.
"I'm overjoyed, and I want to thank all the fans deeply. There have been several problems on social media since yesterday. I am so ecstatic to have traveled so far and succeeded in making a winning prediction.
"I never set myself an easy aim. It wasn't an easy aim, but my perseverance helped me achieve it, said Kwadwo Obeng Jr.
Hearts of Oak are currently second with 16 points in the Ghana Premier League after to today's victory.
