Ralph Mupita, a prominent global business figure and the group CEO of MTN, the largest mobile telecommunications company in Africa, will deliver a keynote address at the inaugural Africa Prosperity Dialogues, which are being organized by the Africa Prosperity Network and its partners, including the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat and the Government of Ghana, the event's host country.

The inaugural meeting of these yearly conferences, known as the Kwahu Summit, will take place from January 26 to 28 in 2023. The Africa Prosperity Dialogues, which center on intra-African trade, bring together the continent's political and corporate leaders to strategize and collaborate on the crucial single market, the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) initiative.

peak of the watershed

Ralph Mupita confirmed his involvement through video message, saying he was thrilled that a forum had been established to properly involve Africa's private sector in the continent's economic unification.

Over 285 million users in 19 markets throughout the continent are presently served by MTN's phone, data, finance, digital, enterprise, wholesale, and API services. In Africa, the continent with the largest per capita use of mobile money for transactions, digitization is considered as one of the fastest means to achieve economic unity.

The group CEO of MTN, Mr. Mupita, stated that the world is at a crucial juncture and that Africa cannot afford to put its future in the hands of the West or any other region of the world, as it has done for many years.

According to Mr. Mupita, the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (Kwahu Summit) holds the potential to be a turning point for the African continent since it aims to convene governmental, business, and civil society leaders to create ideas for accelerating the development of the continent.

"I believe that we are in the midst of some pretty intriguing times, and one of the ideas we are learning is the idea of a big reset. It is time for us to think and ask, "How can we build the Africa that we want, the Africa that our predecessors wanted?" We are currently living in a geopolitical and socioeconomic situation that we could not have possibly envisioned even six months ago, much alone a year ago.

Building an independent but also globally integrated Africa was the driving force behind the creation of the Africa Union.

The huge human potential present in each of the nations that make up the continent, the vast resource base, the natural richness, and the people's abilities are what give Africa its power and strength.
