Youth Zongo from Ghana and Europe need to participate in cultural exchange programmes, which we must promote.

A cultural exchange programme between Zongo youth of Ghanaian heritage in Germany and other European nations and Zongo youth in Ghana is being proposed by the coordinator of the Zongo Development Fund.

Ben Abdallah Banda claims that by exposing both young groups to the sociopolitical and cultural diversity of the two nations, it will promote information exchange and chances for both individual and communal growth.

Ben Abdallah Banda has been touring Europe for one week, beginning in Den Haag, the Netherlands, where he spoke at a symposium that was held across the continent and was sponsored by the Islamic organisation Sautu Sunnah Europe.

He stressed the crucial role that the diaspora played in Ghana's growth through remittances and investments in housing infrastructure.

He left Holland and headed to Brussels, where he briefly interacted with the Zongo Muslim community before continuing on to Hamburg, Germany.

As the host, Masqid Rahma, the largest mosque serving the Ghanaian community in Hamburg, arranged a number of events to allow the Presidential Coordinator to communicate with as many different groups as possible.

Mr. Banda presented the goal and mandate of the Zongo Development Fund at a special gathering of the youth organisations, outlining the importance of participation on the part of the Ghanaian youth living abroad.

He urged the youth to study the political and economic systems as well as the cultural legacy of Africa. He noted that it was important for both the growth of both continents and the best use of their special advantage of having access to both European and African civilizations.

In Hamburg and its surroundings, Mr. Banda also visited with local chiefs, imams, women's groups, and other Ghanaians.

In order to enhance and improve the socioeconomic situations of Zongos and Inner City Communities in Ghana, the Zongo Development Fund was founded in 2017.
