President Akufo-Addo has been urged by pressure group Solidaire Ghana to review the 2011 constitutional amendments.
The Group's president, Dr. Cadman Atta Mills, stated in a message for the new year that a review of the supreme laws of the land is required to change the "one man takes all" system and "to bring into fruition the many institutional checks and balances needed for rapid, sustainable, and equitable growth."
In order to get input from everyone, Dr. Atta Mills further urged for a nationwide discussion on the review.
The essential constitutional reforms should be put on the table for discussion and implementation at the national level. In this context, it is important to recognise that changes cannot wait for a change in political power.
"We further demand that stakeholders be invited to create draught laws on Political Party Financing, construct a new Procurement Act, and put forth an improved Local Government system that would increase the quality of governance in our beloved nation," the statement continues.

Greetings of the season to the noble people of Ghana. Knowing how challenging the previous year was as a result of the economy's impending collapse, we would have hoped to provide good news to Ghana's suffering populace before the new year.
A happy and prosperous new year is something we really hope for Ghanaians (2023). However, we see that the paradigm change in Ghana's political system that SOLIDAIREGHANA has been advocating is still not on the table for a national discussion.
The paradigm shift's underlying structural changes are prerequisites for Ghana's efforts to successfully address the nation's economic and governance difficulties and be able to quickly rebuild our economy.
We take advantage of this occasion to urge the administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo to finish the constitutional reforms that the Ghanaian government began in 2011 in order to provide the numerous institutional checks and balances required for quick, sustainable, and equitable growth.
The essential constitutional reforms should be put on the table for discussion and implementation at the federal level.
In this situation, we see that the reforms cannot wait for the change in governmental power! To further improve the quality of governance in our beloved nation, we urge that stakeholders be called to submit laws on political party financing, create a new procurement act, and present an improved local government system.
