Former Auditor General Daniel Yaw Domelevo voiced concern over the National Cathedral's construction using public cash.
He contends that since Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made a commitment to God in exchange for being elected president, the project's idea originated from him and should not be funded by the government.
Daniel Domelevo challenged the Ministry of Finance's use of money from the Contingency Vote to pay for some of the projects in an interview with Joy News.
Domelevo believed that the practice was wrong and unsustainable and that everyone should reject it. "I feel extremely sad that the transaction cost money. We should never use public cash to support the wants or requirements of certain individuals.
The president should spend his own money, not taxpayer money if he wants to build a cathedral for God. Even if he chooses to do so, the constitution has procedures in place for how public monies, particularly those from the Consolidated Funds, may be used. It must be in the budget that Parliament has authorized, according to Article 1," he stated.
The National Cathedral has been embroiled in several disputes, with the most recent claim being that Reverend Kusi Boateng, a member of the cathedral's Board of Trustees, received an improper payment.
Ablakwa set out on a quest to identify the individuals behind the organization after learning of an initial accusation that a staggering GH2.6 million was given to a company called JNS Talent Centre Limited.
An individual named Kwabena Adu Gyamfi was identified as the director of JNS Talent Centre as a result of Ablakwa's inquiries into the claimed payment.
After establishing the names of two of the center's three directors, Ablakwa set out on a mission to identify the third director, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
His conclusions, which were supported by several legal papers, claim that Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is the same as Reverend Kusi Boateng, who has supposedly been using the alias Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
Reverend Kusi Boateng allegedly has many passports and identity cards, some of which have the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, according to a bombshell series of charges made by Ablakwa, which he refers to as the Tsar Bomba of all controversies.
"As you may recall, I noted in an earlier exposé of the scandalous GHS2.6 million cash transfer from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited that the company's formation papers show Johannes Eshun, Sheila Eshun, and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi as its three directors.
