President: A film industry policy is being created
According to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghana is developing a policy framework for the film industry to develop the domestic film market and draw in foreign actors.
According to him, the goal of the program was to have a similar effect to the car strategy's success in luring foreign automakers like Nissan, VW, Toyota, and Sino Trucks to the nation.
Idris Elba, a world-renowned actor in the film business, paid the President a courtesy visit at the Jubilee House when he made this announcement.
Industry gains
The request for a policy framework was described as "right on" by President Akufo-Addo, who expressed the hope that the policy will make the film sector highly useful via value addition.
He added: "Until I came, there had been no policy; we set one out, and, as a result, over half a dozen large global vehicle manufacturing businesses are in the nation." He said the automobile sector was the most recent example of how the strategy had paid off.
Policy
In August of this year, Mr. Elba is scheduled to begin filming in Ghana for a segment of a movie he is producing. He told the president that a national film strategy will help Ghana recruit and profit from foreign film production.
He stated that he was prepared to let the policy be tested and strengthened using his film.
Despite Africa's potential for and contribution to the film industry, he said that there were few facilities available, except those in South Africa.
where a sizable building with a sizable film production set-up was located.
According to Mr. Elba, the significance of the movie business has been recognized thanks to incentive programs established by models in South Africa, Greece, Morocco, and some other countries in Europe.
He asserted that he was aware that Ghana was working on a thorough strategy to advance the country.
