The late Lepowura Alhaji Mohamadu Nurudeen Jawula served as the president of the Ghana Football Association from 1997 to 2001. He was also a former candidate for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) running mate position. He also served as the director of the ministry of finance, the chief director of ports and harbours, and the chief director of the ministry of health. He also served as a board member for numerous organisations, including the Cocoa Board and the Shippers Council.
At the age of 73, Alhaji Jawula, as he was affectionately known, passed away in the United States of America on January 21, 2023, following a brief illness. He started his intermediate school at the Tamale Secondary School and finished it on May 3, 1949, in Accra, Ghana's Greater Accra area.

From 1972 to 1974, he worked as a tutor at the Tamale Secondary School, where he subsequently rose to the position of head of the economics department. Alhaji Jawula then worked as an assistant secretary for the East Dagomba district council in Yendi from 1976 to 1978 before being named district chief executive for the West Mamprusi district council in 1980. He also served as district chief executive for Walewale from 1979 to 1980.

Alhaji Jawula participated in the creation of the National Budget by contributing logistics and statistics while serving as the deputy director of administration at the Ministry of Finance from 2000 to 2003.
He was instrumental in the expansion of the Ports of Tema and Takoradi, which allowed larger ships to pass through the Harbour of Tema and allowed Takoradi to be an export port for cocoa and oil until 2006. He moved to become the Chief Director for the Ministry of Harbours & Railways in 2003 and served on the Board of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.
In his capacity as Chief Director from 2006 to 2008, he facilitated policy initiation, direction, and implementation for the Ministry of Health based on his managerial and administrative skills and experience. This included the negotiations of the single spine salary, which turned around the level of remuneration for health workers. He made it easier for us to collaborate with all of our Development Partners.
From 2014 through 2019, Alhaji Jawula served as the UPSA's Otumfuo Centre for Traditional Leadership's Consultant Director. collaborates on academic matters for the Center with the vice chancellor and registrar of the University of Professional Studies. To guarantee that OCTL's objectives are achieved, he gave staff members leadership training, technical assistance, and direction.
On March 4, 2023, at precisely 10:00 a.m., the last Adua rituals will take place in the courtyard of the State House in Accra.
Alhaji Jawula had 10 kids from previous marriages.
