Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president, has reviewed construction work being done on a classroom block for the Kwaboanta Presbyterian Junior High School (JHS) in the Eastern Region's Ayensuano District. The vice president is funding the project, which is almost finished, in order to fulfill his promise to the Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Bawumia promised to support the development of the JHS facility for the Akuapem Presbytery to serve the people of Kwaboanta and its surroundings in response to the church's commitment to build legacy centennial commemoration projects during its centennial celebration.
When Dr. Bawumia visited the project site to check on its development, he gave the contractor instructions to add a computer lab that he would supply once the project was finished. He praised the omnipotent God for providing He thanked the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for its enormous contributions to the advancement of Ghana and wished him the direction and fortitude to take on the job personally.
Together with other government officials, the Vice President was escorted by the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Seth Kwame Acheampong.
Appreciation
The Coaltar District Pastor for the Presby Church, Rev. A.L. Odai, thanked the vice president and recalled how Dr. Bawumia had been "moved by the Holy Spirit" to make the commitment to the church and the neighborhood. The young people in our neighborhood are quite enthusiastic about this initiative, and we are very appreciative of you, Mr. Vice President, he stated.
Rev. Odai said, "We know that the good Lord will assist you to fulfill His will to the glory of His name.
On behalf of his people, the Kwaboanta chief thanked Dr. Bawumia for his consideration and compassion towards the church and the neighborhood.
Veep promises to assist
Dr. Bawumia has vowed his ongoing assistance to the people of Ghana as part of his commitment to them. He has donated to several groups and organizations over the past couple of years, including a donation and sod-cutting ceremony for the Liberty Assemblies of God hospital in Accra in February 2023.
