The emphasis of this year's International Women's Day, Embrace Equality, is on the significance of fostering gender equity across all sectors and making it an intrinsic part of every society.
With its Inclusion for Everyone pillar, Vodafone Ghana has contributed throughout time to the acceptance of equity. Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, Vodafone Ghana's Director of Human Resources, said, "It starts with conscious efforts that make our workplace more inclusive and pleasant for our female leaders. Our Executive Committee has a 70% female representation. In departments where there are normally a lot of men working there, we have goals to hire more women. We also provide four months of parental leave, have designated areas in our offices for nursing moms, and reserve parking places for expectant mothers.
She also referred to the Reconnect initiative of Vodafone Ghana. Our Reconnect program makes it possible for female professionals who have taken a break from their employment to concentrate on other aspects of their lives.
