The tragedy occurred last Friday night, and one of the victims has described how it happened. The accident also implicated the Nanton MP, who was traveling to Parliament to cast his vote on three tax measures.
In a radio interview with Citi FM in Accra, he went by the name Kwabena and said that the accident took place on March 31, 2023, at 9 o'clock.
His Toyota Corolla collided with a pickup truck carrying Mohamed Hardi Tuferi, a member of parliament.
It's unclear if the MP was the one behind the wheel.
At the Absa Bank clubhouse and the British High Commission in North Ridge, the disaster took place. Before a pivotal vote in Parliament on three tax bills, the MP was involved in an accident.

In the radio conversation with Citi FM that Graphic Online listened to, Kwabena said that his car somersaulted and landed upside down.
In Accra, I work. I had left work and was travelling home. I often travel to the Flagstaff House (Jubilee House) via the GIJ (Ghana Institute of Journalism) route. On that dependable evening, I left for home at 9 o'clock as usual.
He said that when he arrived at the intersection, he was following another vehicle. As that vehicle started making a left turn, he followed along and left.
"I arrived at the T-junction known as the Absa Club House. The MP's vehicle was approaching from the side of the SDA church, and I was turning left to merge into Independence Avenue. The MP's car collided with mine before I could react. He struck my driver's side. There is evidence that the MP's [vehicle] was travelling too fast. He claimed.
He claimed that while the MP was hurriedly removed from the area, he lost consciousness briefly and had to fight to awaken. I soon started hearing voices, which is how I slowly came to this. As I woke up, I learned that the MP had been hurriedly removed from the scene.
He said, "A policeman subsequently came and handed me the MP's phone and told me I could contact." He claimed to be from Parliament. A pair then drove me to the hospital.
The man said, "My automobile is beyond repair." The effect was significant. I had no idea why he was driving so quickly. I firmly believe that God saved me. I would have been stuck in the car if I hadn't been able to unlock my door.
The MP reportedly cut his forehead and was first brought to Parliament to cast his vote before being transported to the hospital for additional examinations.
