IDEG Requests Bryan Acheampong's Shocking Remark Be Addressed by President Akufo-Addo

Bryan Acheampong, the Abetifi MP, recently made a contentious remark, and Dr. Emmanuel Akwetey, the executive director of the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG), has encouraged President Akufo-Addo to address it.

According to MMr. Acheampong, the present New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration would employ all necessary measures to maintain its hold on power and would not cede it to the National Democratic Congress in opposition.

"The NDC party will fall." We will let the NDC know that we have the men if they try to employ violence, threats, or other dumb tactics during the 2024 election. We'll demonstrate to them that we have men. The guys are here! To emphasize, he yelled. We, the NPP, would never stand on a podium to offer the NDC the keys to the country.

That won't ever take place! At all costs, we'll make sure the NPP stays in power. Acheampong, Bryan

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for Mr. Acheampong's arrest in response to this statement, while the National Organizer of the NPP has endorsed it. This has caused a rift.

Due to the nature of Mr. Acheampong's statement and social standing, Dr. Akwetey also supported his public interrogation, saying that it would serve as a warning to others.

The president must make clear his position on the problem, according to the head of the Center for Democratic Government, in order to stop the situation from getting worse.

"Not only that, but his policy is crucial," he stated in a chat with Joy FM.

He said, "Given that he is a minister and a member of parliament and he makes these utterances, it cannot be taken lightly, and given the precedent or antecedent, that is why I accept the argument that the police ought to ask him for questioning."
